In a world full of technology it was only a matter of time before someone came up with a way to get rid of physical books completely. Of course, we have come a long way in the last 20 years with the way we use computers and technology in our daily lives, but is a tablet a better experience for the everyday book reader or is holding an actual book in their hands still the way to go?

I couple years ago I broke down and got my first kindle fire tablet. I was so excited to have so many books at my disposal without having to go to the bookstore or my town library. I immediately downloaded all the free classic books I could find. For a few weeks, I absolutely loved my kindle and I used it on a daily basis. After a while, I would forget to plug it in at the end of every day so I wouldn’t have it for the following day so I would end up having to take a physical book from my collection to read. I honestly felt like I was going back to the stone ages not having all those titles at my fingertips. But to be completely honest, I missed having the actual book in my hands.

For me, reading is an experience and I love having a book to hold. I’m also that weirdo who loves the smell of books. Nothing beats buying a new book, opening it for the first time and having that amazing smell surround you. Yes, tablets are great but nothing will ever stop me from wanting to go old school and have the actual book in my hands.
