Coloring: Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore, the adult coloring book fad is in full force. The coloring is more than just a time killer when you’re bored, it can really calm your anxiety when you’re feeling stressed out. it will take your mind off of whatever it is you are worrying about and you will just melt into a relaxed state. I get my coloring books at Barnes and Noble, they have a very wide virality of adult coloring books so you will definitely find something that strikes your fancy. Gel Pens are my favorite to use when coloring, you can find them pretty cheap over on amazon.
Podcasts: While I’m coloring, I don’t usually like to listen to music because it really distracts me from what I’m doing. I’m the kind of person that likes to sing and dance around to whatever music I’m listening to. So instead of music, I usually listen to a podcast. I have a couple that I really enjoy but Simply Unprofessional really makes me laugh whenever I’m feeling down.
Fidget spinners: Yes, fidget spinners are a relatively new thing that every kid seems to want these days. I got one originally for my daughter because all her friends had one, I ended up buying a couple more for myself because it really does help take the edge off when I’m feeling antsy or anxious.
Writing/Blogging/Reading: Reading has always been a huge escape for me, ever since I was a child, reading has been a really big part of my life. I don’t get to read as much as I would like today, but whenever I feel really stressed out I will be sure to make time to sit down and read, even if it’s just a chapter or two.
Photography: Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been really interested in taking pictures. If I ever need to escape, I will go for a walk around the house, down the street or to a park and take pictures of whatever it is I can find. I don’t publish a lot of the photographs I take, I do it mostly for myself. Although, if you are friends with me on facebook, you will know that my favorite thing to take pictures of is my 6-year-old daughter.
